This 5 ingredient chocolate fondue is a superfood sauce full of sweet flavor. Dipping strawberries into this chocolately dip will have your tastebuds doing the happy dance. Did we mention that this recipe is paleo and vegan friendly?
Chocolate covered strawberries. Chocolate. Covered. Strawberries! Yes here at vegiventurer we have created a paleo chocolate fondue with sweet strawberries to have with our S.O. or for yourself. This 5 ingredient chocolate fondue will guarantee no left overs.
We created a paleo and vegan friendly fondue by using some kitchen staple ingredients:
- cacao or cocoa powder
- grade A maple syrup
- coconut oil
- cinnamon
Now for the vegiventurer version we used cacao which is a great superfood to add to your lifestyle. It performs a lot like regular cocoa powder but it tastes more on the dark chocolate side with some earthy and bitter notes.
Cacao is the raw version of cocoa powder. It is minimally processed which means there are a TON of vitamins and nutrients that aren’t fried off in the making of cacao powder.
Combining these ingredients yields an enjoyable fondue that you can have year around as well as Valentines Day.
The price point of cacao can be a bit high so if you still want to enjoy this recipe without price tag you can always use unsweetened cocoa powder. It tastes practically the same without some of those flavor notes we talked about earlier.
Overall this recipe is bound to impress everyone tastebuds and dietary restrictions. Combining these ingredients over a medium heat brings this recipe together rather quickly… So if you need to make more for a larger group there isn’t such a fuss.
We hope you having fun creating these loveable recipes this valentines season. Be sure to let us know how you think about our recipe we brought you this lovers and self lovers holiday. Leave a comment, tag us with #vegiventurer and @vegiventurer on instagram,
5 Ingredient Chocolate Fondue
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup cacao or unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/3 cup coconut oil melted
- 1/3 cup maple syrup
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 pinch sea salt
Instructions
- To make the fondue, add cacao, maple syrup, and coconut oil in a pot over medium heat. Stir until combined and no lumps are visible in the chocolate mixture.
- Add your cinnamon and sea salt. Transfer into a serving tray for dipping. Be sure to wash your strawberries or whatever fruit you decide to indulge with and pat with a paper towl. You want your fondue dipper ingredients to be as dry as possible. Do we even need to have the wash your produce step?
- You are free to eat your goodies right way or allow them to chill in the fridge for 30 minutes to allow them to slightly harden. This chocolate will not harden all the way but it will stick to your berries better.
