Lemonade is such a fun drink to bring to the summer treat table. This adaptation has a calming and floral ingredient that is a game changer: chamomile tea.
We also made this accidentally paleo-friendly by using grade A maple syrup to sweeten. This brings a sweet note but its not thru the roof sickly sweet.
Chamomile tea is such a powerhouse of an ingredient. Here are just a few benefits:
- Promotes sleep and helps treat insomnia
- Boosts your immunity
- Helps treat colds
- Reduces muscle pains and menstrual pains
- Reduces stress
This recipe comes together rather quickly as well. The most work you will do is cutting and juicing the lemons.
Simply cut and juice six lemons into a 2-quart mason jar or pitcher. While you are juicing your lemons bring six cups of water to a simmer and add your chamomile tea bags. Steep for 2 minutes and discard your tea bags.
Once your lemons are juiced add your chamomile tea mixture along with 1/2 to 3/4 cup maple syrup to sweeten to your preference. We wait for the mixture to come down to room temperature before transferring it to the fridge to chill further or add ice and serve.
And that it! Like we said super simple to make and super delicious to drink all sunsetting evening long before bed.
