These vegan barbecue beer battered cauliflower wings are a great plant-powered addition to your parties, cook outs, or a cheatsy meal day. These fried guys are full of flavor without the animal products!
Whether chicken wing prices are up or if you’re just trying to cut out some of the meat, cauliflower is a great substitute. With our barbecue beer battered cauliflower wings, all you have to do is cut a head of cauliflower into similar pieces, add the breading, and bake or fry until cooked to perfection.
We fried our cauliflower wings for a quicker cook time. Make these a half an hour before you want to serve and they will be read to go!
You can bake cauliflower wings. With the batter we created for this recipe we recommend frying them. If you bake them, we suggest doing a dredging of wet and dry mixes and then baking them at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. Add your sauce and then bake for another 10-15 minutes.
For the sauce we used our carolina barbecue sauce for a smokey and sweet flavor. But since the sauce can be a little intense for the neutral cauliflower we also made a cream vegan coleslaw to add on top or on the side of these bite-sized flavored bombs.
This barbecue sauce is such a great addition for game day recipes, grilling cookouts, or small amounts added to dressings for salads. You can find the recipe here.
