Wraps are just to-go salads… change my mind.
I love living by this idea because it makes salads more versatile. And when things are more free form, its much easier to make. And with this Mediterranean inspired chicken wrap recipe, I hope to show just that.
Chopping veggies to mix with protein and dressing is something I go to after a long day of work. I’ve, in fact, have started making salads for breakfast because it’s so fast and easy.
Not to mention this is an excellent way to use up the last bits of veggie scraps as well as proteins…like yogurt marinated chicken.
I made this recipe to compliment the flavor of the marinade in the chicken. The ingredients are fresh and sharp. They also add more substance rather than just lettuce.
I also whipped up a quick tahini sauce to give you more reason to add obscene amounts of garlic into food.
What is tahini?
For anyone who doesn’t know what tahini is, it is a paste made from ground sesame seeds. It is used all over the place but mostly in the Middle East and the Mediterranean. To me tahini tastes very deep and earthy with a little nutty note at the end. It is used to bring hummus together, or made into a sauce to add on top of food…. like shakshuka, our recipe is here.
Tahini has become a staple ingredient in my life over the past few months. It is found in the peanut butter isle and is roughly like $5.00 for a good sized jar.
From the chicken, to the veggies, to the tahini dressing? This recipe is so refreshing and light. Overall, I think this recipe is something to at least have in your rotation once.

Mediterranean Inspired Chicken Wrap
Ingredients
Mediterranean Inspired Chicken Wrap
- 6 oz Yogurt Marinated Chickent
- 1 cup Romaine chopped
- 1/2 cup Cherry Tomato sliced in half or quarters
- 1/2 cup Cucumber deseeded and thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup Red Onion thinly sliced
- 1 oz Feta Cheese
Tahini Garlic Dressing
- 1/4 cup Tahini
- 1/4 cup Olive Oil
- 3 cloves Garlic minced
- 1 tbsp Red Wine Vinegar
- 2-4 tbsp Water
- 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
- 1/4 tsp Salt
Instructions
To Make the Tahini Garlic Dressing
- Combine all ingredients, except water, into a blender and blend until smooth. Add your water one tablespoon at a time until the dressing is your desired thickness. You want it to be pourable but still thick. It should ribbon when you pour it.
To Make the Mediterranean Chicken Wrap
- Combine all your ingredients into a bowl to toss. Add a small amount of dressing and toss until everything is well coated.
- Warm a wrap or tortilla through so it is pliable and easy to fold. Fill your wraps with your salad mixture.
- Roll your wrap up like a burrito by taking the bottom of the wrap and folding it over the salad mixture. Take both sides and fold inward towards the center. You wont make it all the way to the center but try to get them tucked in as close as possible. Slowly roll up your wrap until you meet the other end.Cut in half and enjoy with some roasted veggies or chips!
