Quick & Easy Grilled Pizza

A simple and delicious alternative to a stone oven style pizza!

Ingredients
  

Pizza Sauce Ingredients:
  • 1 28 oz can Whole Stewed Tomatoes unsalted
  • 2 Tbsp. Olive Oil
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 6 leaves Basil chopped
  • Salt&Pepper to taste
Other Ingredients: (what we used)
  • 1 16oz container Pizza Dough (yields 2 pizza's)
  • Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • Prosciutto thinly sliced
  • Roasted Red Pepper
  • Fresh Mozzarella Cheese
  • Fresh Basil
  • Fresh Tomato (on the vine)

Method
 

Pizza Sauce Assembly:
  1. Combine both olive oil and garlic in small saucepan, saute until garlic is aromatic and golden brown.
  2. Add remaining ingredients to pan and let simmer for 20 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and transfer into food processor. Pulse or blend until well incorporated or until desired consistency.
  4. Place in bowl and let sit at room temperature until cooled. Store in airtight container. Keep refrigerated unless in use.
Pizza Assembly:
  1. Roll pizza dough into desired shape and thickness.
  2. Place dough on preheated grill on one side for 3-5 minutes or until golden brown with lightly chard grill marks, then flip. (If your grill has a wide grate width, it's recommend that you use tin foil to prevent dough from falling though.)
  3. Add sauce, cheese, and other toppings to cooked side. Close grill to let everything melt together. Cook for additional 3-5 minutes.
  4. Remove from grill and place on desired serving dish. Enjoy! :)
